About

Joe is a New York based writer, performer, and a proud alumnus of the New York Neo-Futurists who perform in a show called Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind every Friday and Saturday night in the East Village.

Joe graduated from the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, IL with a BFA in Acting. After graduating, he worked as an actor with the Griffin Theatre Company before moving to New York City in 2001. In New York, Joe was an intern at Ensemble Studio Theater where he first started writing plays and presenting his work with a theater lab that evolved out of his internship. Interested in theater education and outreach, Joe joined the teaching artist staff at the Roundabout Theater Company working with inner city youth before joining the New York Neo-Futurists in 2006. Most recently, Joe worked with the Neo-Futurists again as part of the creative force behind Soft Hydraulics: Inventions, Puppets and Stunts in the Age of Manipulation at The Standard ToyKraft in May 2013.

Combining his love of experimental and environmental theater, collaborative and ensemble based projects, Futurism, and exploring a new audience/performer dynamic, Joe continues to work in New York’s Off-Off Broadway community determined to undermine the status-quo.
